MIXED CHOIR "TIK UN TĀ"

MANAGER: GUNTIS GALIŅŠ

The musical association "Tik and tā" was founded in 2003 under the influence of the Song Festival, because after the obligatory holiday repertoire, we wanted to sing what was closest to our hearts - both the compositions of young Latvian composers and folk, popular and spiritual music. Friends united in the group not only in music, but also in life. Participants include teachers, lecturers, civil servants, entrepreneurs, IT, pharmaceutical, insurance, media specialists and also students. However, mostly people with some experience in life and music make music together. We are proud of our "singing families" - alongside dads and moms, the children who have grown up in 15 years, who have spent many years of choir rehearsals in the play corner, stand next to them. So far, an unbeaten record - 4 singers from the same family.

Not only rehearsals and concerts are important in Ghana, but also joint events and entertainment. The collective has its own traditions: participation in Jelgava's city celebrations, St. Anna's church services, November 18 holiday concerts, Zemgale Organ Music Days, Song Festival in Meteņi, Christmas concerts in Latvian churches. Kamerkoris has participated in international competitions in Klaipeda, Olomouc (Czech Republic), Riga, Daugavpils, performed concerts in Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Estonia and many Latvian cities. "Nevertheless" has a close friendship with the choir "I.N.T.A." (Estonia) and "Bare for goy" (Norway). Sincere cooperation has been established with several organizers of Lithuanian music life, as a result of which the choir has performed in several Lithuanian churches. Since several members of the association play different instruments, the last programs include compositions with acoustic accompaniment.

At the Song and Dance Festival of 2013, the choir won the I degree laureate diploma in the Folk Costume Show, in which each member of the choir participated in their own folk costume.
