Mixed choir "Mītava"

Since its foundation in 1987, the "Mītava" choir has been led by the conductor Agija Pizika, who has raised the artistic quality of the choir to an ever higher level with her professional work and demandingness towards herself and the singers. From 2022, the choir is led by Raimonds Gulbis.

"Mītava" is a member of the Song Festival movement, whose individuality is formed by a diverse selection of repertoire - from folk songs and original compositions by Latvian composers and obligatory Song Festival compositions to jazz and contemporary popular pop music. It also participates in various international competitions and festivals every year with considerable success. The choir is focused and motivated for new competitions, concerts and projects.

The set of human qualities of the choir is characterized by its prevailing mood and attitude towards work - it is characteristic of "Mitavians" that the song accompanies them in all moments of being together - not only during rehearsals and performances, but also during trips and leisure activities.
