The application for the 19th International Sand Sculpture festival “SUMMER SIGNS 2025”, which will take place in Jelgava from May 10th to May 17th, is open! 

Sculptors will bring to life this year’s theme “Mythical Characters” by using sand. Artists are invited to apply by filling out the official application form until March 14th.

The theme “Mythical Characters of the World” celebrates the timeless power of legendary figures from mythology, folklore, and ancient legends. From gods and heroes to mystical creatures, these characters shape cultures and offer profound lessons. Sculptors are invited to bring these magical beings to life, blending stories from various mythologies into captivating artworks. This theme immerses visitors in a world of imagination, offering fresh perspectives on ancient tales, and inspiring awe, wonder, and curiosity for all ages.

According to the European Union, artists from Russia and Belarus, as well as citizens of Russia or Belarus, who represent another country, may not participate in the sand sculpture competition and festival.
