The folk dance ensemble unites dancers in four different generational groups, all of whom share the same values both in rehearsals and in concerts – a great love for dance, responsibility towards each other and a deep understanding of dance. Lielupi traditions are passed on from one group to another, thus forming this ensemble into a common whole, in which every dancer is an asset. Folk dance ensemble "Lielupe" - it's not just dancing, it's being in a shared love of dance, which leads us all to various adventures and events both here in Latvia and in the wider world.
We are all together - LIELUPE!
BASIC COMPOSITION (Group A)
Lielupe's core team brings together adventurous young people who love dance and feel it to the core. These young people smile when they catch their partner's eyes, and their hearts start beating faster when they hear the audience in the hall. But Lielupe's core team is not only about shared stories on stage or in the rehearsal hall - we love to jointly and proudly defend the name of "Lielupe" in various sports tournaments, we happily navigate the twists and turns of the Crooked Compass competition and dance in fun dances on the party floor. In short, we always love to be in motion and love to dance!
"OUR LIEUPE" (Group D)
The main values of the dancers of "Mūsu Lielupe" (also popularly called "Jaunie vedržnei") are years of inexhaustible love for dance, close friendship, good jokes and family togetherness both in daily rehearsals and concerts, as well as outside the stage boards. One for all and all for one - this is the composition of "Mūsu Lielupe"!
MIDDLE GENERATION (Group D)
The dancers of the middle generation, whom we collectively call the Greats, are dancers who have been dancing together for decades, who are almost as if they grew up together. Excitement, humor and love of dance go hand in hand in this line-up both in rehearsals and events outside the dance hall and stage. Time spent together, both dancing and in activities outside, where families are also involved, is worth its weight in gold. Great for us are those smart dancers who proudly carry the name of Lieupians for the longest time.
STUDIO (group B)
The dancers of the studio are part of the newest folk dance ensemble "Lielupe", where the dancers begin their joint journey in the collective. The great joy and excitement of dancing unites young people, introducing them to the ensemble's decades-long traditions, dance manner and understanding of what it is like to dance in the "Lielupe" folk dance ensemble. This line-up of dancers are the ones whose path will lead forward - to the main line-up and even further!
