14 equally cool, cheerful and life-loving singers - this is the senior vocal ensemble "Vizija" and its leader Liene Gaile. We are happy to be together both in rehearsals and concerts, we have grown together so much that we feel each other from the look of our eyes and the slightest movement. With the realization - "Only together we are strong!"- we always go into new temptations and respond to every invitation to celebrate life.
- In the fall of 2011, the vocal ensemble of the Jelgava Pensioners' Association was established under the leadership of Nikolay Isachenkov, who after some time came to the name "Vizija" senior vocal ensemble. However, Nikolay is more interested in singing than leading the ensemble, and on December 6, 2012, its current artistic director, Liene Gaile, joined the ensemble.
- In April 2014, at the II Latvian Senior Vocal Ensemble Competition, which takes place once every 7 years, the jury recognizes "Vīzija" as the second best senior vocal ensemble in Latvia in the group of mixed ensembles.
- In the fall of 2015, the road leads to Valmiera and Burtnieki county, where the Baltic seniors singing festival will take place, for the 25th anniversary of the Baltic road.
- 2016 comes with changes - the ensemble changes its home, entering the JPPI "Kultūra" family.
- We are passing the pandemic by using every opportunity to meet in person, working both individually and all together in outdoor rehearsals.
- In May 2023, the finals of the XXVII General Latvian Song and XVII Dance Festival Vocal Ensembles Competition will take place, where "Vīzija" will sing III place in the category of Senior Vocal Ensembles.
Every year, the ensemble participates in Jelgava choir district vocal ensemble shows, vocal ensemble singing festival in Mežotne and other concerts organized by cooperative collectives, as well as supports important events for Jelgava and Latvia. Since 2016, "Vīzija" has been inviting its friends from all over Latvia to the "Mītavas tilti" singing festival, but a collective report concert - the Winter concert - has become a tradition.
The collective's repertoire includes original songs and arrangements of folk songs by Latvian composers, but most of it is occupied by Liene Gaile's original songs written for "Vīzija" and arrangements of popular songs by other composers.
"You just sing. Nothing more.
Because the song itself knows everything, everything.
You sing, trust, let it be,
May the song heal you again."
