The mixed choir "Balti" under the leadership of Maija and Erika Branka was born at the end of 2015, by the reunification of the singers who started together as a choir already during school. Since the 2016/2017 season, the choir has joined the family of JPPI "Kultūra" collectives, and many musical young people from Jelgava have joined its ranks.
The choir sings mainly 18-30-year-old singers, who are united by the love of song, purposefulness and the joy of being together.
"Balti" is actively involved in Jelgava's cultural life, performing at the city's cultural events, creating its own concert programs, participating in choir festivals in Latvian cities and beyond its borders.
