Laureates of the 24th International Ice Sculpture Festival were awarded

Today, February 3, the most ambitious winter event in the Baltics was opened - the 24th International Ice Sculpture Festival. This year, 30 professional sculptors from 12 countries created the ice art works of the competition on the theme "Ancient Deities": Indonesia, Mongolia, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. Opening the festival, the winners of the ice sculpture competition were announced at the award ceremony:

During these holidays, February 4 and 5, get to know the ice deities of different cultures in Jelgava, the most ambitious winter event in the Baltics! More than 65 works of ice art, demonstration duels and shows, as well as a wide cultural program together with the stars of Latvia and Lithuania.
Also this year, the spectators will be delighted by the fast or "flash sculptures". On Saturday and Sunday, actively creating new ice objects, the sculptors will demonstrate their skills both in exciting demonstration duels at 5 and 7 p.m. in the open-air concert hall "Mītava" and in shows at 2 and 4 p.m. on Jānis Čakste boulevard and Pasta Island.
The youngest guests of the event with their families are invited to celebrate the ice festival in the open-air concert hall "Mītava", where fun games and theatrical performances will take place on February 4 and 5 at 12, 1 and 2 p.m. During the festival, the nearby "Pasta salas" skating rink and various attractions will also operate.
On the evening of February 4, at 6 p.m., the group "Big Al & The Jokers" will take the stage, and at 8 p.m., Lithuanian stars - the group "The Roop" will seduce visitors. The Latvian music group "Pērkons" will perform in the open-air concert hall "Mītava" on February 5 at 6 p.m., while the festival's stage program will be closed at 8 p.m. by "Bermudu Divstūris".

The international ice sculpture festival is organized by the city of Jelgava and the institution "Kultūra" in cooperation with the companies "Ramirent" and "Husqvarna".
