Ticket sales have begun for the 20th International Sand Sculpture Festival in Jelgava
23. March, 2026.
Ticket sales have begun for the 20th International Sand Sculpture Festival, who may 23 Pasta Island in Jelgava will celebrate its anniversary. This year, the event will feature a particularly extensive program—impressive sand sculptures, a variety of activities for families, and a spectacular evening concert program at the “Mītava” open-air concert hall.
In this anniversary year, the festival’s theme will take visitors on a journey millions of years into the past—Pasta Island will become a place where the past is reborn in the sand Stories of the Jurassic. Internationally renowned sculptors will create impressive works of art featuring dinosaurs, ancient sea creatures, and rulers of the skies, revealing the power of nature, the struggle, and the harmony between life and the surrounding world.
Throughout the day, festival-goers can also look forward to a wide-ranging entertainment program—performances for children, foam parties, wooden games, “Jogita’s Events” creative workshops, shows by the improvisational theater group “Spiediens,” and other anniversary surprises. In the evening, the open-air concert hall “Mītava” will host its season-opening concert featuring artists beloved in Latvia – Samanta Tīna, groups “Kautkaili” and “Pienvedēja Piedzīvojumi”, as well as hip-hop artist Fiņķi.
