ARTISTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL ICE SCULPTURE FESTIVAL SCULPTORS FROM 12 COUNTRIES

The 24th International Ice Sculpture Festival will take place in three places in Jelgava - Jānis Čakste boulevard, Pasta island and the open-air concert hall "Mītava" from February 3 to 5. This year, a total of 32 professional sculptors from 12 countries will create works of art, revealing in ice a unique perspective on ancient deities and their importance in different cultures. Within the framework of the festival, in less than a week, 45 competition sculptures will be created, and in total more than 60 ice objects will be on display.
In search of new ideas and solutions, the "24. International Ice Sculpture Festival" sketch competition the jury selected 30 authors of the best works, who will demonstrate their skills in the ice sculpture competition in Jelgava in February.
Artists from a record number of countries have been selected for the competition. Sculptors from 12 countries - Indonesia, Mongolia, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Finland, Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia - will create 45 competition ice sculptures. In total, 30 individual and 15 team sculptures will be on display during the festival. Competition sculptures will also be added large format ice photo objects, which will be created by the sculptor Kārlis Īle. The participants will start the work on the creation of ice sculptures on January 30 and continue until February 3.
Visitors are invited to get to know the ancient deities from February 3 to 5 at the Pasta island, J. Čakste boulevard and the open-air concert hall "Mītava". on February 3 the area of the event will be open from 18:00 to 22:00, when the festival will be officially opened and the winners of the competition will be awarded, there will be a performance RIGA FASHIONS and OZOLS. On the other hand February 4 and 5 entrance to the festival will be possible from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the first half of the day ADOLF ALUNAN JELGAVA THEATER, creative associations THEATER AND ME, FAIRY TAIL HOUSE, as well as THE NEW THEATER OF JELGAVA will offer theatrical performances for children. Visitors will be able to watch ice transform into works of art in exciting sculpting demonstration duels. But in the evenings, Lithuanian and domestic music stars will take the stage - BIG AL & THE JOKERSa, THE ROOP, PĒRKONS and BERMUDU DIVSTŪRIS.

The international ice sculpture festival is organized by the city of Jelgava and the institution "Kultūra", supported by the companies "Ramirent" and "Husqvarna".
Take note! Visitors to the International Ice Sculpture Festival are invited not to bring pets, dogs will not be allowed in the event area. It is allowed to photograph and film sightseeing objects, but it is forbidden, without coordination with the municipality, to fly unmanned aircraft or drones over the territory of the event.
