Students are invited to apply for the collage competition "International Ice Sculpture Festival in Jelgava"

In anticipation of this winter's most ambitious event, the 24th International Ice Sculpture Festival, the municipal institution "Kultūra" announces a collage competition for collectives of 1st to 4th grade students "International Ice Sculpture Festival in Jelgava". This year, students are invited to develop works on the topic "Ice sculpture of my dreams".
The purpose of the competition is to support and promote children's creative expressions in visual art, providing an opportunity to strengthen existing and gain new knowledge about the International Ice Sculpture Festival in Jelgava. Teams, classes or groups of grades 1-4 are invited to apply for the competition. One collective may submit one common A2-sized collage to the competition, for the creation of which any materials or visual art techniques may be used.
The winners of the first place, if they are outside Jelgava, will get paid bus services on February 4, 2023 and invitations to visit the 24th International Ice Sculpture Festival. However, if the class from Jelgava wins the first place, it will get paid bus services in the amount of 300 kilometers, as well as invitations to the festival.
The deadline for submitting works is January 13. Interested parties can submit works to the person on duty at the Jelgava House of Culture or send them by post (6 Krišjāņa Barona Street, Jelgava, LV-3001). In both cases, the package should clearly state "For the student collage competition "International ice sculpture festival in Jelgava"".
