The third day of the 22nd International Ice Sculpture Festival competition was held in Jelgava, on the island of Posta. Interpreting the theme of this year's festival \"Superheroes\", the sculptures of the teams begin to take shape, depicting familiar characters from Hollywood films, history books and our own everyday life. Sculptors use one large (200 x 100 x 50 cm) and eight small ice blocks (100 x 50 x 25 cm) to create large ice works of art. The sculptures are in the process of being created and will be created until the opening day of the festival, February 7.<\/strong><\/p>

Yesterday, 15 teams of sculptors began work on the creation of the festival's large sculpture forms, the tallest of which exceeded the 3-meter mark. On the other hand, already this morning, as the ice artworks took on clearer outlines, the images of superheroes recognizable to everyone began to appear in them. Sculptors will continue working on the sculptures until Friday, when they will be handed over to the jury commission for evaluation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The ice sculptors do not hide their joy about the ice expected this morning and hope that the forecasts of forecasters will be encouraging in the following days as well. Each team sculpture is created in an individual tent, so that it is less affected by the weather and does not reach them from the heat.<\/p>

On the other hand, the installation of the ice bar and photo sculptures of the largest object of the festival, \"Ledus vieni\", will begin tomorrow on Pasta Island. The author of the idea of the event's interactive ice objects is one of the most successful Latvian sculptors, K\u0101rlis \u012ale.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
