From February 4, Jelgava will have the opportunity to view 21 environmental objects from the ice. In the sculptures of the fragile material, the artists will explore the theme \"Zoo\", to reflect the diversity of the animal world. The traditional Ice Sculpture Festival with an artist competition, sculpture demonstrations and a cultural program will not take place this year.<\/strong><\/p>

Ice art objects will be located in different places in the city: two sculptures each will be located in the courtyard of the tower of the Holy Trinity Church and at the \u0118ederts Elias Jelgava Museum of History and Art, five ice objects can be viewed on the Pasta Island, two on J\u0101nis \u010cakste boulevard, in Hercoga J\u0113kab Square and in Uzvaras Park. three sculptures are placed, one each at the House of Culture and in the square behind it, in Station Park and Ozolskv\u0113r.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

This year, the sculptures will be created by 11 artists, including K\u0101rlis \u012ale, who has won recognition at many international ice sculpture festivals around the world.<\/p>

Sculptors will reveal their interpretation of the interaction between the animal and human worlds in ice sculptures. They will start creating the five large sculptures on January 31st, and the artists will create the individual pieces from one block of ice from February 3rd.<\/p>

The ice sculptures will be fenced off and illuminated after dark. Residents are invited to view environmental objects, observing a distance of two meters, using a face covering if necessary and observing other epidemiological safety regulations in force in the country.\u00a0<\/p>

On the other hand, in the foyer of the 2nd floor of the Jelgava House of Culture, the works of the students' collage competition \"World of Animals\" submitted by students 1-4 will be on display. class groups from different Latvian schools. The jury will evaluate and include in the exhibition the best works sent to the competition of the previous year. The exhibition can be viewed by presenting an interoperable Covid-19 certificate, which proves vaccination against Covid-19 or its exacerbation.<\/p>

The creation of ice art environmental objects is ensured by the city of Jelgava and the institution \"Kult\u016bra\", supported by \"Husqvarna\".\u00a0<\/p>

Please be informed that the Ice Sculpture Festival will not take place this year due to the epidemiological situation and the extension of the state of emergency.<\/p>

Ice art environmental objects will be created in compliance with the Cabinet of Ministers' regulations No. 662 \"Epidemiological safety measures to limit the spread of the Covid-19 infection\" and the guidelines developed by the Ministry of Culture.<\/em><\/p><\/div>
