The fourth day of the 24th International Ice Sculpture Festival competition was held in Jelgava. Work on the creation of 15 team sculptures ended yesterday, but today, February 2, world-renowned sculptors from 12 countries, creatively interpreting the theme of this year's festival \"Ancient Deities\", created 30 unique works of art - individual sculptures.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

30 sculptors who came from Indonesia, Mongolia, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia on the J\u0101nis \u010cakste boulevard depict 30 different deities and mythological beings in ice, as well as those that embody the power and phenomena of nature , as well as those found in Greek, Egyptian, Aztec, Nordic and other cultures.<\/p>

Sculptors use one block of ice, which is 180x105x50 centimeters in size and weighs one ton, to create individual works of art. The creation of ice sculptures is planned to be completed on February 3. Sculptors are provided with the highest quality specially frozen edible ice without air bubbles, which melts much slower than naturally occurring ice. Each sculpture is created in an individual tent so that it is less affected by the weather.<\/p>

From February 3 to 5, get to know the ice deities of different cultures in Jelgava - the most ambitious winter event in the Baltics! More than 65 works of ice art, demonstration duels and shows, as well as a wide cultural program together with the stars of Latvia and Lithuania.<\/p>

Take note! Visitors to the International Ice Sculpture Festival are invited not to bring pets, dogs will not be allowed in the event area. It is allowed to photograph and film sightseeing objects, but it is forbidden, without coordination with the municipality, to fly unmanned aircraft or drones over the territory of the event.<\/p>
