Yesterday, February 5, the 24th International Ice Sculpture Festival ended in Jelgava. Throughout the weekend, from February 3 to 5, in three places in the city - J\u0101nis \u010cakste boulevard, Pasta island and the open-air concert hall \"M\u012btava\" - it was possible to enjoy cool art by looking at more than 65 ice objects created by 32 world-renowned artists from 12 countries on the topic \"Ancient Deities\". Visitors could also watch demonstrations of ice sculpture creation, attend concerts of local and Lithuanian musicians, engaging performances and various attractions. The festival ended with the well-attended concerts of the groups \"P\u0113rkons\" and \"Bermudu Divst\u016bris\", in which the city was filled with popular songs known to both young and old visitors.<\/strong><\/p>

On the final day of the festival, the holiday program was introduced by fun play performances of the Jelgava New Theater for the whole family, as well as a performance for children by the creative association \"Te\u0101tris un Es\". Demonstrations of sculpture creation were held on J\u0101nis \u010cakste boulevard and Post Island, performed by sculptors Agnes Rudz\u012bte-Kirillova and Z\u012ble Ozoli\u0146a-\u0160neideres.<\/p>

On the other hand, Sanita R\u0101vi\u0146a and K\u0101rlis \u012ale held exciting sculptural duels on the stage of the \"M\u012btava\" concert hall, creating ice sculptures in front of the visitors and discovering ways to make the ice material \"obedient\". Sunday evening's cultural program was concluded by the concerts of musical groups \"P\u0113rkons\" and \"Bermudu Divst\u016bris\", popular in Latvia.<\/p>

During the ice sculpture festival, Jelgavnieki and city guests could appreciate more than 45 competitive ice sculptures made by 30 world-renowned sculptors. During the week, competing for the title of the best sculptor, 30 sculptors from 12 countries made impressive ice sculptures in two competition categories - team and individual. Contest results. Also, the range of ice objects of the festival was supplemented by photo sculptures, various frozen objects and the ice bar of the \"Ledus vieni\" winery.<\/p>

We would like to remind you that traffic will be closed on J\u0101nis \u010cakste boulevard, Driksas street and \u016adens street on Monday, February 6, until 8:00 p.m. due to the necessary site arrangement and dismantling works.<\/p>

The International Ice Sculpture Festival is organized by the city of Jelgava and JVPI \"Kult\u016bra\" with the support of the companies \"Ramirent\" and \"Husqvarna\".<\/em><\/p>
