As preparations continue for the 26th International Ice Sculpture Festival, set to take place from February 1 to 8, 2025, the sketch competition has closed. This year, the competition attracted significant attention from international sculptors, with 25 teams from various countries submitting their creative ideas and unique artistic concepts.<\/p>

15 teams and 30 artists from 13 countries, including Japan, Mongolia, Italy, Latvia and other European countries, will participate in the festival. The selection process was particularly careful, as each submitted project demonstrated both the artists\u2019 technical skills and creative approach to creating ice art.<\/p>

When choosing participants, the organizers evaluated not only the artists\u2019 experience but also their ability to create works distinguished by aesthetic value, innovation, and profound storytelling. According to the festival organizers, this year\u2019s competition was both exciting and challenging, with the submitted projects impressing with their diversity and originality.<\/p>

Festival Theme \u2013 \u201cThe Story of the Universe\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

The 26th International Ice Sculpture Festival will invite artists to delve into the secrets of the universe, revealing its vastness and mysteries. The theme, inspired by humanity\u2019s desire to understand the depths of space, the birth of planets, and the secrets of galaxies, promises to be a source of inspiration for unique artworks. Ice, a material that combines fragility and strength, will this time symbolize the boundless energy and life flow of the universe.<\/p>

Jelgava, which has become a meeting place for ice sculpture artists over the years, once again promises to captivate visitors with stunning creations and a vibrant atmosphere. The festival not only enriches the city\u2019s cultural life but also enhances Latvia\u2019s recognition on the global stage.<\/p>
